I absolutely love this picture.
Earlier today, as I surfed for a photo for this post, this one caught my eye and inspired a lesson about LEADERSHIP.
First, let’s clarify what we’re looking at in the picture.
I see a gathering of BLUE guys (male?…well, yeah, I think so) and a RED guy standing on a stage above them. The red guy looks animated, like he’s telling a story.
In my mind, the RED guy is the leader.
Who are the blue guys?
…Followers?
Mostly. (And a few leaders-in-training.)
A group of passive followers…and a few rising star leaders.
The rising stars are the ones in the front, just below the stage, with the keen eyes—see em? They’re the ones taking in every word the RED guy so passionately shares.
After the talk, the really sharp BLUE guys will linger. They want some time to chat with the RED guy and develop a relationship with him.
When they do finally head home, these few BLUE guys will immediately IMPLEMENT exactly what they learned from the RED guy.
If the RED guy is a TRUE leader, he’ll be watching for those keen BLUE guys standing out from the crowd.
Over time, the keenest BLUE guy will prove himself in the RED guy’s eyes—by implementing his teachings, taking MASSIVE ACTION, and seeing *RESULTS.* Then—and ONLY then—the RED guy will take that leader-in-training under his wing and begin the process of leading the new found leader.
As a *TRUE* leader, the RED guy will lead—mostly by example—and mentor the rising star leader until the Red guy can step back and support the development of MORE leaders.
And so, the cycle continues. The question is:
Where are you in this picture?
Are you about to step up to the stage? Are you committed to becoming a Red guy or a Red gal?
I hope so. Because it’s the ONLY way you’re going to get more out of your network marketing business: you must work toward BEING that RED guy up on the stage. And when the time comes, you’ll be ready to step aside to allow other leaders in your organization some time on the stage, too.
Do you want to do yourself a favor?
Determine WHO the leaders are in your organization and learn from them.
Follow what they do. Study their every move. Attend their conference calls. Get your hands on their training products…. Do everything you can to immerse yourself in their mentorship.
If you study the true leaders—PLUS you take massive action on what you learn—you WILL see results.
Your dedication and drive will be watched by the Red guy. Guaranteed.
Soon, you’ll have earned yourself a mentor. Take the Red guy’s wisdom and run with it. Then get ready.
You’ll be looking for that rising star: the keen BLUE guy, the one who looked a lot like you did—before you became a RED guy.
